It was another sizzling day under the sun at SW19 and it started slowly for us in terms of victories, but we did see the likes of lucky loser Victoria Mboko more than make the most of her opportunity. Hailey Baptiste, the Canadian’s next opponent (skull face emoji) also came back from a set down to win on her singles main-draw debut.

In the men’s draw Ben (10) Shelton secured his first-ever straight-sets win at SW19 while Gael Monfils upset 18th seed Ugo Humbert in a five-set epic – standard La Monf these days.

Unlike Day 1, we did have several defeats on Day 2 where the likes of Christopher Eubanks, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Jay Clarke, second seed Coco Gauff, Heather Watson and Taylor Townsend among fell in the first round.

Listen out for post-match press snippets from Mboko, Baptiste, Clarke and Gauff.
